Initially, codecs have helped us with multiple technological solutions for difficulties that humans were faced with years ago. Although they have had a positive impact on our lives and have helped our lives become much easier, there is also a negative perspective regarding the development of codecs and the effects and impacts they have on our future.
With regards to our social lives, codecs have made it possible for us to communication with our families, friends, and even strangers through the use of social media. As convenient as all this may be, there is a negative side to it. The use of this technology results in people being physically antisocial. It limits the social interaction between individuals.
Another negative aspect about it is that this technology has created a platform for bullying – Cyber bullying, and scams. It is a known fact that a lot of bullying takes place on social media. Teenagers use Facebook, Twitter and other social networks to make others feel inferior. They exchange hate-mail and humiliating images of one another, which as an effect on the ratings of numbers suicide cases and cases of children leaving school or not wanting to go to school because they are being illtreated.
