Being an athlete, professional or not having energy is a huge factor in being successful. Many athletes decide to drink either energy drinks or coffee to gain their energy they need to be able to do well. Many argue whether coffee or energy drinks are better energy sources and which one is better for your health. Personality, before a sports game or practice, I prefer to drink water to hydrate. I would rather drink a bottle of water than a ton of coffee. Even though it may not give me energy, it can make you perform better. Caffeine is a huge reason why you get so much energy from these two drinks. The amount used is unhealthy for anyone who drinks it. Both coffee and energy drinks are very unhealthy sources of energy for any athlete.

The video provides the information that coffee has less amounts of caffeine, sugar and salt in it then the energy drinks. From watching the video, I would rather have the coffee. Energy drinks have unhealthy amounts of caffeine which can make you jittery and have a quick spike of energy then a sugar crash, which is the opposite of what professional athletes want from them. On the labels of the energy drinks, in some cases they don’t list the full ingredients of the drink which is concerning knowing the fact you have no idea what your drinking. Coffee can also include a large amount of sugar, but you could make the decision not to add coffee creamer or sugar to make it sweeter. In addition, coffee is enjoyed commonly warm, on the other hand energy drinks are enjoyed cold or refrigerated. Because of the warm coffee, it sits in your stomach which means when your exercising for a long period of time, you could feel it ‘’sloshing’’ around in your stomach and the milk in coffee
