I grew up completely surrounded by agriculture, and I wasn’t even aware of it. We had horses, a little garden in the backyard, tons of flowers and plants my mom took care of, the food we ate, and more. I didn’t realize then that agriculture was all around me, and would become a very big part of my life. Today, I am so appreciative and grateful for Agriculture and all it has done for me so far. At the young age of eight years old, my dream of becoming a horse trainer began. I became so obsessed and fascinated with it all. I even bought books and watched Pat Parelli videos to prepare myself for my future career. As I got older, that dream only grew. I met many incredible people, including the owner of the place, a vet himself, Stan Snodgrass. I got to see and experience many different animals that come in many different conditions to get treated and/or trained. I am currently taking classes and continuing to work towards becoming a large animal veterinarian. I still have the original dream of training, but my true passion is caring for the animals, medically and professionally. This year, my Junior year of high school, I hold an officer position with my school’s FFA and I am taking AG classes, one of those classes being an Advanced Animal Science Dual Credit. If presented with the opportunity to be a part of this mentorship program, I am taking another step closer to my goals. This is the kind of opportunity I have been working on, and I really think I would benefit from it. Pursuing my dream of working with large animals is very important to me, and it has been a dream of mine for a very long time. Both of my parents are very supportive of this dream, and are very proud of how far I’ve already come, and how much farther I will go. This program is an amazing opportunity that I don’t want to
