From an early age, I have always been curious as to how things work. Although I have always been interested in math, science and particularly in electronic, it took me awhile to realize that engineering was something I considered as a career path. At a young age, I had little knowledge and opportunities of what engineering was and what the field provides. For a long time, I figured I would end up being a pilot, since most of my friends were interested in that field. If you asked me, I would end up be majoring in engineering awhile back, I would be surprised. Maybe this is because engineering wasn’t in my family’s background or maybe my life wasn’t fulfilled with technologies around me to better understand what the field provides. I was eager and enthusiastic to understand what is really going on inside electronic devices and constantly ask myself how they function. At one time, I was jealous of my friend’s talent. I wanted him to tech me, however, I told myself that if he could do it, so could I. Due to this interest, one evening I wanted to see the inside part and electronics components of our TV. Once my parents were out to work, I asked my friend for tools and then started opening the TV. After removing the cover, I was able to see the motherboard and all of the TV’s electronic components. After a few minutes of looking, I tried putting everything backs together, however, I realized that I’ve forgotten what goes where. Several minutes of trying, my mom caught me and I was in a big trouble. After that incident, my interest in electronics started to gradually decrease. For some reason, I was not getting it and everything I did was not going as I hoped. Due to this, I gave up in pursuing my interest in …show more content…
I stayed most of the week after school to learn the fundamental of computers and doing engineering projects such as creating an elevator with motors and Motion Sensor Alarm. In addition, with the help of my teachers, I was able to learn different kinds of computer programming languages. Afterward, I was recommended to join the robotics team and compete on the FIRST, For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, an international high school robotics competition that is held every year in Washington,
