“My Greatest Two Years” I am Kyla Aeisha Tan, a student of Uno High School from the Philippines. If I were to describe myself in one word, it would be spontaneous. Why? It is because I always strive to exceed others’ expectations. I try to not fit in any specific stereotype and just be my weird and unique self. I am also adventurous and try to seek out the unknown. I never decline a challenge, unless it’s against my beliefs. My curiosity is endless and I never leave any question unanswered. The answer is always out there, but it must be sought after. To be honest, I was never always the type of person I am today. I used to be the student who never copied and never cared to copy down notes. Fortunately and surprisingly, I managed to get off with average grades. However, everything changed at the start of Grade 11. It had dawned on me that my whole high school life up to that point was a fraud. In that moment, I swore that I would do my best to prove that I am capable of doing much more. I turned a new leaf. I started listening and taking down notes, making sure to do my best all the way, until a point in time where I stopped and looked back at what I have achieved. I started joining a lot of extra-curricular activities. Fortunate enough, I was able to become the president of my school’s science club. I admit that it was exhausting and difficult and there were times where I just couldn’t handle it. Yet somehow, I managed to pull it off. Along the way, I learned the many skills needed to become a leader. I learned how to manage my time and resources well and properly organize, plan, and execute my events. I also learned the essence of teamwork and cooperation. I had to team-up with other clubs and organizations and work with them to organize many events, significantly the Valentine’s Day fundraising where I worked together with my school’s art club and student
