I am an athlete and I love to compete for my school. I love bringing pride to my school and keeping that good reputation going. Being an athlete requires lots of quality characteristics, the main one being self-control. Do I think college athletes should be paid by scholarships? Giving an athlete an athletic scholarship will give us more incentive to do better. Not only perform better for ourselves but for our school, family, friends, teammates, coach, and for God. It will also give us more incentive to get better grades, why not try to get an academic scholarship as well. Now some might say giving athletic scholarship and academic is a bit overboard, but in the whole scheme of things it is really not. College athletes do more than non-athletic students so there should be more options for us to help out financially. If you do more, you should get more, in simplistic terms. This is not meant to sound disrespectful or selfish. It is meant to get the point across that athletes have more to bring back to schools. If you give an athlete a scholarship you most likely will not be let down. They will try to impress people for the school, and give back to the school in return. It is win-win situation in my eyes. The school helps out the athlete, and in return he athlete will repay the school either financially or academically. Sometimes
