There has been a growing argument in recent years, of whether or not college athletes should receive payment from their schools. Though people from both sides of the argument have valid points to make, it is obvious that not paying college athletes is more beneficial to the athletes as well as the universities. The benefits that college athletes currently receive are better than the alternative of treating sports as a job in order to receive a salary. The positive side of receiving an athletic scholarship over a yearly salary is much greater than the other way around. However, there are several other factors that go into the argument of considering whether or not to pay athletes as well. Because, most college athletes receive a substantial amount of financial aid along with several other benefits that make their college athletic experience better than they could ever imagine.
