College Athletes will Rise
Hard workers. Money makers. Goal achievers. All the outcomes of a successful student-athlete at any college. Colleges accept many students each year, most coming on a sports' scholarship. There are some advantages and disadvantages to paying a student-athlete, but do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages? It’s possible they do. Colleges should pay students because scholarship money won’t cover tuition and needs for a human, the athletes do all the work but coaches get the money, and if they have more players they’ll earn more revenue.
Colleges give scholarships to teens and expect that money to last them the whole time they are there. Well it doesn’t. Scholarship money will barely cover tuition, so it obviously

Coaches get paid all this unnecessary money when it could go towards something else. Not saying coaches don't deserve any payment, but they don't need half of an average teen’s tuition as a salary. In fact, Stanley Eitzen, professor emeritus of sociology at Colorado State University states,” These rules reek with injustice. Athletes can make money for others, but not for themselves. Their coaches have agents, as many students engage in other extracurricular activities, but the athletes cannot”(“College Athletes…”). Coaches can get paid too for helping the athletes, but student-athletes help coaches deserve their money, so therefore athletes should be paid. Coaches just sit on the bench and navigate the athletes, but the athletes are really the ones who do all the work. They got to make a touchdown, a serve, a goal it's non stop. According to Michael Wilbon, newscaster of ESPN says,” The players have become employees of the universities and conferences as much as students-employees with no compensation, which not only violates common decency but perhaps even the law”(“College Athletes…”). With that being said athletes are basically being treated as slaves. They may love the sport but making other people and not yourself money isn't enlightening. College athletes typically are good players, therefore the should be able to earn something from it and not just the coaches and
