A desire to positively impact the lives of others while being intellectually engaged and constantly challenged led me into the field of medicine. These goals, combined with insights I gained through hands-on experiences during my medical school, and my work as a general practitioner in my country led me to pursue a career in Internal Medicine.

I wake up every day determined to become a better physician. My goal is to help patients and I greatly enjoy the sense of accomplishment when I am able to do so. My passion for medicine began at a very young age, inspired by my parents, both of whom are also in the medical field. I strived to excel in academics to secure a coveted spot in medical school. I was especially fond of the thorough details of the clinical cases I encountered, the process to develop a comprehensive differential diagnosis, the investigative work of searching the literature, the direct interactions with my patients and their families, and the academic exercise to present complex cases to the residents and professors. The cumulative experiences I had convinced me that Internal Medicine is the most rewarding specialty, it could fulfill my ambitious goal of becoming a superb doctor, teacher, and overall, person.

After graduating from medical school I started working at Al-Hosn Patriarchal Hospital where I gained valuable experience. I learned a lot about managing simple and complex diseases as well as how to approach patients and communicate with them and with their families in a more effective manner.

Driven by my conviction that medicine is a humanitarian job, I volunteered in the Syrian Red Crescent where I worked in a newly established clinic to serve refugees. We offered several relief services including offering free medications and treatment, first aids, and outpatient surgical procedures. My time with the Syrian Red Crescent has helped me improving my clinical skills significantly as well as becoming a more humble and mature human
