I want to enroll in Pre-AP English because I think it could help me in several of ways. This can help attain my goals because it helps me receive a higher gpa. I plan to contribute to Maricopa High School community by joining student council, if I join student council I would be involved in more things and can help at any events, I am committed to go above and beyond and I am self-motivated to do anything necessary. Skills that I have that are essential for advanced placement include someone who will try their best every day, someone who will go above and beyond in completing their assignments and are respectful and responsible.
My childhood was not most would consider to be easy. Both my mother and father had addiction issues that forced my younger brother and I to care for ourselves. By the time I reached the fifth grade, I had attended five different elementary schools. On the days that I did actually go to school, I was not on time. A few years later, I moved in with my grandparents, and my entire life improved.
Tips for Incoming Freshmen in High School In middle school and all of my previous years I thought my freshman year of high school was going to be the toughest/worst year of my entire life. Movies and TV shows make it seem as if all that’s going to happen to you will be negative. So far, my freshman year hasn’t at all been a negative experience. I just had to tell myself that this was going to be like every other school year and to not dread it so much.
I was not supposed to be on varsity, but since I was at every summer workout and studied the sport for the upcoming season I earned a spot. I am writing to express my interest in applying for the Sophomore of the Year Award for the University of New England. Through my experience as a second year student at the University of New England, I have always been determined to be a leader to and a supporter of my peers. Some qualities that show that I am worthy of the Sophomore of the Year Award includes: Leadership: While a student at UNE, I have dedicated most of my free time to the development of programs on campus such as UNE’s Crew Team, UNE’s Housing Staff as well as The USG Sophomore Class Representative. As a member of UNE’s Crew Team, I have encouraged 6 students who are only involved with one other club to join crew and stay active. Without a good amount of rowers, only a few of our 7 new boats would be filled.
Candidate Personal Statement: Why do you want to be a part of student government? I want to be a part of student government because I want to further serve my community within Flushing High School as well as support people I hold dear within the school. If I were elected to student government, I would want to unite the community as well as succeed in performing my leadership duties within the student community. I believe my previous experience in Bring Change to Mind (BC2M), Peer Group Connections (PGC), as well as my Sisters Keeper (MSK), has properly prepared me for this position as they have helped me build leadership skills such as the public speaking and a keen sense of corporation in group settings. These three services have prioritized giving back to the community and further supporting Flushing High School.

The Honors College offers many great opportunities for students to participate in research, community service, and leadership—all of which help us to enhance our interpersonal skills and prepare us for the job market. My particular area of interest is chemistry: I have always been interested in learning how the human body works, about drug design, and chemistry-mediated drug delivery. I was born and raised in Vietnam where traditional medicines of using herbals, and plant sources for health treatment is practiced widely. There are many different things that can impact students in their high school years. Whether these things are friends, activities, or the sports they participate in they all impact the student. Many opportunities are presented to students in high school, although not many impacts the student beyond high school, I believe this opportunity will impact me forever. I can vividly remember the advice given to me by my high school counselor. I was broken down, whispering to myself that I was not college bound. It was my counselor who made me realize that persistence was a key factor to continuing my education. The wisdom that was shared to me that day was instilled into my mind and was endorsed in my heart.
