The diverse activities that I have endured in my undergraduate research experiences have influenced my growth as a scholar intellectually, socially, and personally. More specifically, my involvement in research has motivated me to learn new information about my interests in psychology, enhance my writing skills, be an efficient communicator, and have overall diligence in my work ethic. As an undergraduate student these skills were important as they helped me establish myself as an well-trained and experienced researcher. However, my goal is to continue expanding my knowledge as well as the knowledge of clinical science. My goal as a graduate student will be to learn and utilize new skills in presenting research at conferences, disseminating publishable research, and teaching others information about the merits and values of psychological science. I also hope to hone my current skills such as understanding the intricacies of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) more thoroughly and using advanced research methods to conduct studies. Obtaining a graduate education will help me achieve my goals because I will have the ability to ask new questions and be intimately involved with a topic that will serve not only my interest but the interests of students, researchers, and laypersons. Additionally, in graduate school, I plan to produce my master's thesis and doctoral dissertation in a timely manner with hopes of publishing my work in prominent academic journals and presenting my research at conferences. Graduate school will allow me to learn and grow in an academic environment, and I look forward to achieving such goals in the offing of my future, graduate education at Texas Tech
