Colonol Pyncheon and Jaffrey Pyncheon are eerily similar in the actions they took against Maule and Clifford. The Colonol killed Maule in order to get the land on which Maule's house was built on. And Jaffrey had sent Clifford to prison in order to make himself rich and powerful. However, though they are similar, Jaffrey Pyncheon committed a worse act.
