Colorado Christian Application Essay Jessica Plett The experience that has most recently changed my life and my goals is the new position that I am in at Western Nevada College in Carson City Nevada. As of July of this year, I became the new Scholarship Coordinator for WNC. Working in this atmosphere conducting fundraisers and awarding scholarships to students has made me rethink where I am going in my life. I had originally started attending CCU in 2013 with a goal of becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist. I heard about scholarship opportunities on KLOVE radio and applied. I was awarded a small scholarship and that is when my time with Colorado Christian University began. I started on a journey of obtaining my degree in Psychology. I would love to start a safe house for unwed pregnant girls with a program that enables them to finish school and obtain life skills. I believe that this degree will help me to accomplish the business side of my dream. I recently visited a safe house for sex trafficking victims and I am in the process of partnering with them so I can be mentored by the directors. I am learning the love side of having a safe house as well. I am absolutely loving the opportunity to work in a college setting and many doors are being opened for me for my future. With my personal and professional goals pointing in the same direction, I am learning that God works all areas of our life together. These passions I have are going to push me to succeed in this academic field of study. Working in this atmosphere pushes me to want to be a college graduate. How can I encourage our students here at Western Nevada College if I do not have a degree myself? I not only want to set a good example for the WNC students, but for my own children as well. As a mother of seven children it is my duty to set the example that my kids
