Question 1 A common core standard consists of three main sections. The first one is the grade level, the second is an area specific section, and the third is document information. For this standard, it geared towards the fourth-grade standard. NBT (domain) is Number & operations in base ten. 2 is the clusters, notes, and standard A refers to topic A. Question 2 A standard is created and intended to help the teachers know what they want students to learn. It is a guideline create to identify what student are expected to know and learn at their grade level. An example of a standard is students should be able to identify the difference between a poem, drama, and prose. In the early 2000s, the standards lacked standardization and the CCSS was developed in 2009. The expectations for the students were more organized and developed. There is more focus on fractions to enhance the student’s skills and help them master the material than before. NBT is Number & Operations in Base Ten. Question 4 In the eighth grade, students should be able to reason and formulate regarding expressions and equations. They should be understanding the concept of functions in order to describe quantitative relationships. Eighth graders should also be analyzing two and three-dimensional space with the angle, distance, similarity, and congruence. Students should be applying and understanding the Pythagorean Theorem. The domains are “ratios and proportional relationships, the number system, expressions and equations, statistics and probability and geometry” (CCSS, 2018). In the sixth grade, students are expected to connect the ration and rate of a number to multiplication and division.
