8/2016 This year’s presidential election has to be the most involved we have seen in a while! Spectrums of different candidates are running for the 2016/2020 presidency, each wanting to help America become a better country. However, these candidates can only agree on some issues. Otherwise, their opinions are very different such as Donald Trump on immigration and Bernie Sanders on terrorism. Although Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders agree on the complications of LGBT rights, they don’t really click on terrorism and immigration problems. Over the past couple of years, immigration into the United States has spiked, causing it to be viewed as a prominent American issue many politicians don’t agree on, including Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. …show more content…

For instance Donald Trump believes that when fighting against terrorists America and the rest of the world need to have, “a more aggressive approach” (Trump 6). Trump feels as though we have been way too soft on terrorists these past couple of years. He believes that we should attack terrorism head on and exert all of our powers in order to help end it once and for all. In contrast, Bernie Sanders believes that we have been fighting a war we should have stopped fighting a long time ago and should, “withdrawal as soon as possible” (Sanders 6). Sanders doesn’t agree with war, believing that the U.S. should no longer pursue fighting terrorism until it has held down the fort on its own shores. Unlike Trump, he feels it best if the country focuses on fixing its own problems instead of trying to take the weight of the entire world on its shoulders. Overall, Donald Trump wants to launch a full frontal assault on terrorists while Bernie Sanders wants to pull out of the war against terrorism. Trump and Bernie are usually on the opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to politics and its issues; that is not the case when it comes to LGBT
