Mrs. Wurst and Dr. Emmett are two of many professors at Motlow. Both professors share common traits, but are different in ways of delivery of course material, classroom policies, and the amount of work given. Both professors are passionate about what they teach and want every student to learn something from them. Mrs. Wurst and Dr. Emmett both love having fun in class and are easy to understand, however, with these similarities also come differences. The delivery of course material is a lot different between the two professors. Mrs. Wurst is a mathematics professor who uses examples to teach students. She will take problems from the course book and work the problems out step by step in front of the class in an easy to follow and understanding way. However, Dr. Emmett, who is a psychology professor, uses notes and PowerPoints to show the material of the class. He will also use jokes and ask questions to get students involved. The classroom policies of both classrooms are quite similar in regards of communicating to other students and the professor, but also differ in many ways. Mrs. Wurst allows eating in class as long as the food that is brought is not a huge meal. She does not take roll call and instead gives a seating chart that is checked. Mrs. Wurst assigns homework every class, however, all the homework that is assigned is optional. All tests are taken in class and are not multiple choice. Homework and tests are the only two assigned work. In contrast, Dr. Emmett does not have tests in class. All tests are taken online using D2L. Instead of homework every night, Dr. Emmett assigns seven reflection questions on D2L. Every question is given a certain due date and can all be completed at once if one chooses to do so. Dr. Emmett also gives one essay paper that is due before Thanksgiving
