Hinduism teaches people that each being, whether it is humans or animals, has an eternal soul that was created by Brahma. Hindus believe in three main gods, Brahma, the creator of life, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva, the destroyer. On the other hand, in Buddhism, they believe that life was not created by one single god. The clergy of Buddhists include bhikkhus and bhikkhunis, who are male and female monks, respectively. In contrast, there is no clergy in Hinduism, but rather Hindus have Gurus, Yogis, Rishis, Brahmins, priests, monks, and nuns. The goal of Buddhism is to get enlightenment and nirvana, whereas the goal of Hinduism is to do good karma, get reincarnated until you reach moksha, and attain salvation. Hinduism believe that one can not purify his or her soul in just one life and thus need to go through samsara. However, Buddhists believe you can purify yourself, though not your soul because they don’t believe in it, in just one lifetime. …show more content…

Every Hindu has four main goals in life; Dharma, religious duty, Artha, material or wealth possession, Kama, desires and passion, and Moksha, salvation. On the other hand, Buddhists has three main goals in life, resolving the sufferings of life that is unpreventable, practicing dharma, and attaining nirvana. Buddhist monks live in groups and buddhists organize themselves in order. However, Hinduism is an individual’s religion and no one lives in groups, but instead practices it
