Senior Research Paper College is such an important decision in so many people’s lives, however when talking about furthering my education, two places come to mind. Oral Roberts University and Oklahoma State University, in my opinion are a duo, in having a significant meaning, beautiful campuses, and a bundle of student population. Comparing the tuition, scholarships, and room/board, all of these decisions in which all have meaning to my decision of where to further my education and what makes my decision difficult. However, both of these two universities are highly traditional with it being Oral Roberts with the praying hands or Oklahoma State with the unfortunate tragedy that occurred on October 24, 2015. The story of Oklahoma State began on Christmas Eve, in 1890. The first class of students began in 1891, the news and information asserted that in the beginning of school, they had no books and there were no buildings. The website stated that “the college’s first students attended class in the Stillwater Congregational Church” describing that the history behind the university is significant in meaning, Oklahoma State has grown rapidly since the beginning in 1890, I want to be a part of that. In comparison, Oral Roberts has a different, yet significant meaning behind it. Oral Roberts University was founded to better a person spirit, mind, and body. The website asserts that the works that are done at Oral Roberts is beyond just educational by stating “Oral Roberts University is founded on a concept of education for the whole person—aiming at excellence.” The tradition behind the university has a much greater meaning then that of Oklahoma State; however, by observing other descriptions of the two universities, my favor is still in Oklahoma
