Our education is a direct representation of the biases and limits of our society as shown through the texts of Mindful Learning and Teaching With Vision. In our everyday lives at school, we can see how society has influenced the way we learn and what we learn. We have this in our education because, in order for a society to grow, it has to share common goals and values while simultaneously being unique. In our education systems were are taught to be and think uniquely but subliminally we are all being taught to think in a certain manner.

In his text, he describes that by using problem-posing education it breaks the vertical patterns of banking education, and it can fulfill its function as the practice of freedom. Through dialogue, the teacher is no longer someone who only teaches, but someone who is themselves taught in dialogue with the students. Using this method teachers become jointly responsible for a process in which both they and students grow. In a sense by using this method one is finally free, to discuss and think critically with the instructor, not just be dominated by the constant rain of information expected to be memorized and “put in the bank”.
To gain respect from the society one should be educated. Education is not only very important to secure a good future, but to also establish a good set of morals to build character and a good personality. A good education is the foundation to building a good person that will assimilate well into society. A good education provides society with self-providing, hard working individuals.
