The family controversy between the Capulets and Montagues caused the death of Juliet, Tybalt, and Lady Montague. However, Shakespeare never indicated why the families never got along. Furthermore, Tybalt died, simply because he wanted to duel Romeo, and Romeo won. On the other hand, Juliet committed suicide after seeing Romeo had drunk poison. Also, after Romeo had passed, his mother, Lady Montague, had died from grief.
In many instances when young love is present, parents can get in the way of relationships, which sometimes leads to the fall of young lovers. In Romeo and Juliet, By William Shakespeare, this example is shown when Romeo and Juliet fall in love despite the hundreds of years-long family feuds. While in the midst of all of this parents' relationship, the two lovers decide to live their lives recklessly and make impulsive decisions. Romeo and Juliet Compare and Contrast Although Romeo and Juliet grew up in two different households meant to hate each other from the day of their birth, these two star crossed lovers find each other in a different light. In the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet By William Shakespeare, Romeo being a Montague and Juliet being a Capulet were born into this family feud. The two of them fall in love at a party where Romeo was out looking for the original girl he was in love with, Rosaline, and Juliet was there to meet her future husband Paris. With love playing a huge part in this play, it's concluded that Romeo and Juliet are both a Eros kind of lover.
Romeo is not particularly close to his parents, and doesn’t tell them about his unrequited love for Rosaline when Benvolio asks why Romeo is upset, Lord Montague replies “I neither know it nor can learn of him”. This implies that Lord Montague is very passive and doesn’t really make the effort to find out what is wrong with Romeo, although his parents do show genuine affection and concern for him. Romeo prefers to confide in the Friar, rather than his parents, so maybe Shakespeare is indicating to us that wealthy parents may have had a distant relationship with their children, which can potentially prove damaging. Juliet’s parents show love and concern for their daughter at first, but when Juliet refuses to marry Paris, they turn against her.
The Reality of Romeo Romeo a kind, noble sir. Romeo is a character that is more realistic to today's audience. Romeo shows heroism and compassion all through the play. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, is supposed to be a tragedy it shows how love was won, but by hurt and sadness that was done. Romeo shows his love for Juliet in many special and heroic ways throughout the story.
Loyalty and family pressures create inner conflict for human beings. In William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”, readers are able to see fatal consequences; when personal desires and family ties conflict and blind. The characters Romeo, Tybalt and Juliet are faced with the dilemma of facing family loyalty versus self-integrities. Romeo and Juliet must face the consequences of choosing between love and family, influenced by age and social standings, whilst Tybalt is presented with the complication of testing how far he will let family pride drive him.

They are important because Juliet's parents tell Juliet who she has to marry, the families hate each other, and Juliet's mom doesn't have a strong relationship with her daughter.
