Comparing Two Magazine Advertisements

A picture is worth a thousand words! I found two ads advertising the same type of product, but intended for two different gender roles I will analyze the two different magazine advertisements. The two advertisements I chose, Emporio Armani and Gucci cologne. Both ads appeal to the two different genders, but they are they same type of product. The cologne and perfume offer a sense of good smell to the male or female who purchases the product and wears the scent. The first ad attempt to persuade the female buyer with diamonds, sexuality, and a well known celebrity. The second ad attracts the attention of the male by placing the model in a tuxedo and fast car. Both ads appeal to things each gender can relate to. The ad directed towards the female is very feminine with cursive writing, bold print, light background colors, and eye catching images. The goal for the advertisers are to capture customers attention and with the images throughout the ad it just that. Consumers would most definitely read more into the ad because it is attention grabbing. The ad intended for the male was very straight to the point with a few words, one image that included a lot of detail, and a hint of color. The advisters added the hint of color to draw the males attention in more since they are not really big on all the glitz and glamour. I think that the target audience for these products are different. They both are the same type of product and are designed to be used for the fragrance. They are not advertised the same, but the point of the ads are delivered.
