Jesus is also seen as the Word of God in which all this were created. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1:1-3 (The Holy Bible: The New International Version, n.d.)
Research Paper: Lauren & Earthseed vs. Jesus & Christianity Even though the Bible and Parable of the Sower are literary and not scholarly text there are multiply examples in the text where Lauren and Jesus have similar characteristics, because they both have similar characteristics is it easy to compare and contrast the different techniques they use to survive in their "new" world. Lauren suffers from a disease called Hyperempathy, which While Lauren is traveling Lauren just like Jesus is a prodigy. The definition of a prodigy is “a person, especially a child or young person, having extraordinary talent or ability” (Dictonary.com).
Just like Jesus sacrificed himself and put himself before others to save humanity from sin, Carton took Charles Darnay’s spot so the guillotine could behead him just so Darnay could be with his wife and child again. Carton and Jesus are most alike in that they both sacrificed themselves for either a whole civilization or just one line of a family. Before he dies Carton says, “‘I see the lives for which I lay down my life, peaceful, useful, prosperous and happy, in that England which I shall see no more’” (442; bk. 3, ch. 15).
Ella Shenkle Mrs. Ramsey British Literature April 12, 2024 Lord of the Flies Parallels Lord of the Flies was written in 1954 by William Golding right after World War II. This book features many references to violence and savagery, but it also has many biblical parallels. The themes of both Lord of the Flies and Genesis 2:15-17 and 3:1-24 are very similar. The main theme of Lord of the Flies is the tension between man’s urge for savagery and the controlling nature of civilization. And the main theme of Genesis 2:15-17 and 3:1-24 is how sin enters the world and what happens when sinful desires rule over someone.
Jesus (the Logos) is existed before the creation together with Father (the Theos). Jesus is God itself. He is begotten from God, the Father. While the Father is not begotten from whomever. The Father and The Son have a special relation and in fellowship with each other, the perfect love between them radiates The Holy Spirit.
His method was effective because the congregation is scared of what God will do to
Dark elements in written literature have always been a huge part in literary time periods. “Alone” written by romantic author Edgar Allan Poe, is a poem written about him that explains the feeling of loneliness from his perspective. “Sinners of the Hands of an Angry God '' by Puritan writer Jonathan Edwards, shares his perspective on Christianity and God that most people today would argue to be an aggressive form of literature towards religion. Edgar Allan Poe’s “Alone” and Jonathann Edwards’s “Sinners of the Hands of an Angry God” both elaborate different perspectives of dark views for each individual topic in their literature of oneself or another person or being. More or less, the development of the main theme illustrates a contrast between
“Judge Not…” is a famous sentence that is found In Luke 6 and Matthew 7, which is widely used by Christians and non-Christians. People in the world often use; “judge not...!’ to silence whoever is preaching a gospel of repentance, and the misinterpretation makes people believe that they have a point. We are not going to interpret the context of judging, we are simply going to read the Bible and help you to understand what it really means. Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Unfortunately, the second declaration of the creed describes Jesus as “Son in likeness to his creator”. The term “likeness” is used to make a distinction between Jesus and God. In similar fashion, Genesis 1:27 says “So God created mankind in his own image”. Mankind, unlike Jesus, is riddled with faults and encumbered by sins and temptations. Use of the word “likeness” implies that Jesus Christ was no different from you or I.
Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke 9:23, NKJV). This verse speaks volumes about our duties as Christian men and women. I wish it were not so, but there are many in this world who do and will not take up their cross. I cannot rightly say that I blame them, for Jesus Himself mentions in Matthew chapter 7, verse 13 that this will not be an easy undertaking. He said, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it”.
Throughout history, many different people have tried to decipher the strange and unusual language in the book of revelation, to varying degrees of success. Some people see prophecy as a key to the future, and read Revelation like a map to understand future events. Initially, Dr. Bandy’s fascination with the book of revelation began from the “desire to know God’s blueprint for the future as a means to understand the present” . Revelation speaks to us through the lens of apocalyptic writing, a style full of imagery, similes, and metaphors, and while the 1st century audience had no problem understanding the meaning, 21st century audiences tend to have more trouble. No one know the “language”, and only a few people rely on Biblical approaches, instead falling for the fanfare of the “undeniable proofs” that the destruction of the world is coming .
Since the one Spirit of God moved the authors to write the Holy Scriptures, the collective writings of the authors within scripture teach theological concepts in unity. As the Bible progresses, the Spirit of God moves the authors to progress in knowledge of theological truths in unity. Two examples of a theological truth progressing in Scripture are the consequences of sin and God redemption. The first incident of sin with humans transpired with Adam and Eve. They disobeyed God; ergo, they sinned against God.

God: God is known in John by two ways, “the Father who sent” Jesus (5:37), and as “the Father of the Son” (5:17-23). In the gospel of John writing God, does not become the center of focus. The Jewish people already has strong ties and believes in God, however there was some debate whether the Jewish’s people believes that Jesus was the Messiah and or the Son of God. According to C. S. Lewis he made a statement about Jesus and John wholeheartedly agreed with, Lewis wrote “Jesus is lunatic, liar, or Lord”. The Messiah: John speaking about the Messiah is to prove that Jesus is the Messiah, and the Son of God (20:30-31).
