· For the millions of college students in the U.S. that is a lot of paper used for the textbooks.
· With the production of textbooks comes a lot of factories to produce the books which can release toxins into the air.
· Another thing that can be bad for the evvironment is the so-called middle men with the books. The gas used to deliver the books around the country can reach and excess level.

Relevance: Being college students we all know how annoying textbooks can be. And textbooks are something that we all must use almost daily. Credibility: As I use Ebooks as much as possible I have recently looked more into Ebooks and textbooks and feel although I know a good deal of information.
Thesis: Students should be using eBooks instead of traditional textbooks.

· For the millions of college students in the U.S. that is a lot of paper used for the textbooks. In a 2010 article in the Washington Post by author Stephen Lowman, titled Environmental Impact of e-books vs. paper books, in 2009, 1.45 million tons of paper were used to produce them. Which is the equivalent to about 25 million trees.
· With the production of textbooks comes a lot of factories to produce the books which can release toxins into the air. An article in the New York Times, published in August of 2009, written by Joe Hutsko, he is quoted saying “The new study finds that e-readers could have a major impact on improving the sustainability and environmental impact on the publishing industry, one of the world’s most polluting sectors,”
