Health care costs in the US have been on the rise for a long time. This rise in cost has forced many to look for health insurance, either that is affordable for them or that is offered through a job position. Due to the high cost of health care, health insurance is also expensive and not within reach for many people without good jobs. Since there are so many people in the US that do not have ready access to health care, there are many people trying to come up with ways to change this flaw in our country. Many people are looking to the government to provide these people with sufficient health coverage. As with anything there are pros and cons. This also means that there are multiple groups that believe their ideals and ways are the best for everyone.

The two main sides of the argument about how to reform the health care system in the US, the first are those that believe the government should provide the nation with affordable health insurance. The problems with the current health care systems being proposed or implemented are the increased burden it puts on those with health insurance. If the government only provides a low level insurance coverage, this will drive the cost of insurance from other sources up. That means that people that have health insurance will have to pay more for the same amount or in some cases less coverage. Now not only will already insured citizens have to pay more for their own advanced coverage, they will have to pay more in taxes to cover the government supplied insurance. Some have said that the government should take control of the medical insurance industry, but this would result in a loss of an entire industry and hundreds of thousands of
