Having knowledge of the duties that are to be performed daily is essential to being successful in any position. In my position it is very important to score a ten when it comes to having knowledge of the duties expected of you. We have a daily routine to follow each day and having clear knowledge of that routine is essential to being successful. I give myself a ten when it comes to knowledge of duties. I am often assigned to work with new employees to teach them the daily routines, how to perform them and why. Technology is changing daily and being able to keep up with the changes is important in many areas. It all depends on the type of position a person holds, but there is some type of technology on most jobs. Recently on my job we have been given a new handheld device to perform our daily tasks and there were a lot of employees who were not technologically inclined and did not like the change. Every employee that has an employee login can read all policies and find phone numbers to contact others for more information about any policy or guideline. I am familiar with looking up policies and guidelines and can teach others to maneuver through the company?s system to find any answers needed so I would rate myself an eight in this area. My department is a small area and I do have the appropriate space needed to place my overstock items and fixtures. Having the adequate space is important in keep an account of the merchandise that is stocked in the backroom locations. If the space is not large enough to spread products out so it is visible there is no way to know what you have, this could cause unnecessary ordering. Most days I have all of the equipment need to perform my daily tasks but there are days when we come in and there are pieces of equipment missing or misplaced, therefore it is hard to get my daily processes complete. In this area I rate myself an eight. The company that I work for does not have onsite IT, but we do have a contracted company that comes in whenever they are needed to help with any IT issues that cannot be repaired by management.
