Interested in innovation and entrepreneurship, I think I would be a strong candidate for the Shoemaker Scholars Program for three reasons:
• I am a member of the Collegiate Entrepreneur’s Organization here at Indiana University.
• I am a direct admit to the Kelley School of Business, and my declared major is Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation.
• I have goals of starting my own fashion business one day, and I currently run my own fashion and lifestyle blog.

All of my life I have loved the idea of fashion and style, and I have always pictured myself working in this industry. However, I have bigger dreams than most, and I do not want to simply be an employee at a clothing store. I want to create something bigger, something that leaves an impact on the fashion industry. I have goals of opening up my own boutique, and I would also like to start my own clothing line. I find myself often times modifying all of my clothes now, cutting holes in jeans, ripping shirts, etc. to make them more “me” and personable. I believe that how one dresses reflects his or her style, and I want to help people find their own style and to have clothes they believe reflect their style. …show more content…

I created this blog, laurasusnak.com, in October and have treated it like a part-time job ever since. I create and share posts every week- everything from outfit reviews, style ideas, product reviews, lifestyle tips, advice, etc. I created the website myself, and all content is edited, posted, and managed by myself.
