Dear Members of the Selection Committee, I, Rebecca Hsu, am applying for the 2023-24 VP of Public Relations position. During my freshman year, I was hesitant to join FBLA due to personal fears and did not continue my journey here after the first meeting. This year, I was able to muster enough courage to put myself out there, join projects, and compete. My experiences this year at FBLA have shaped me in ways indescribable and built upon various skills, which I want to share with future members, by leading our chapter in a new direction.
I believe I have a lot to bring to the positions I am applying for. I’ve been in positions across multiple clubs on campus that I think could bring a lot of relevant skills and experiences. For Financial Affairs, I am currently the treasurer of another community service organization on campus known as the Surfrider Foundation. Though Surfrider, I also handle all of the budgeting for our events as well as being the primary contact for the ASUC. Through that as well, I am also in charge of our fundraising initiatives similarly to the Financial Affairs Position.
