Disregard for nature, disrespect for beliefs of other people and disdain for our neighbours are some of the ills which eat up our society. It is unarguable that our world is undergoing a transformation into worlds in movies like Cowboys and Aliens, Independence Day and War of Worlds. The only difference, however, is that while aliens destroyed those worlds, we are destroying ours. Many have placed their hopes for a better future solely in science forgetting that the true key to reversing the world’s reaction of destruction is an indefectible education. The first step I propose is the division of educational roles between the home and the school during the primary school years of the child. Subjects on culture, history and languages should be taught at home while those which are technical and teach skills will be taught in schools. This will create more time for …show more content…

We were created to be of service to humanity. Unfortunately, our world is crippled with selfishness. To put an end to this, community service in schools must be a compulsory extracurricular activity for all students. A child should be taught to be a person for others, full of love and consideration for the neighbour. Privileged children are to be encouraged to volunteer at old peoples’ homes, orphanages, hospices and refugee camps. By this measure, children will grow up to make good decisions that will improve the lives of everyone in their community. Ultimately, the indefectible education which I propose must be available to every child irrespective of status, background and wealth. This will give less privileged children opportunities to break away from the shackles of poverty to become notable personalities. Consequently, the rate of crimes in the society will dwindle as people will have productive skills to make a living.
