Introduction Throughout my communications degree program, several assignments and projects have assisted me in my learning. The specific courses and assignments vary. I take account of these particular courses and assignments that assisted me in understanding the core knowledge of creating effective communication messages, in a variety of forms. Furthermore, elements of the outcomes achieved, as a result of completing this academic curriculum, are detailed. Following is a list of courses, assignments, projects and activities that informed my comprehension and skillfulness; analyzing an audience for a speech, evaluating the merit of published sources, questioning and appraising an organization’s communication effectiveness, recommending solutions to real-world issues, facilitating solutions for group, relational and intercultural interactions, and completing communication audits to improve organizational structure.

The assessment included learning about the leaders, member demographics, political affiliation (if any), and, what their core beliefs are. This assignment allowed me to analyze an audience in order to construct an effective message, prior to giving the speech. Hence, the learning outcome here is that preparing for a speech, is as important as giving the speech, itself. Created a PowerPoint presentation slide-show; as a communications tool for the non-profit organization, Special Olympics. The media content was produced to recommend an effective means to solicit donations for the local chapter. (See Special Olympics slide-show.) This assignment informed me of the importance of performing and utilizing research to create an effective visual for of messaging.
