Crowdsourcing Campaigns
The American Apparel company utilized the crowdsourcing campaign to expand its product line as well as the company’s mission. The company is a manufacturer, distributor and retailer of accessories made locally, and selling them online and at their local stores. The primary purpose of the campaign was to solicit ideas from vendors about third-party accessories and homemade goods, and giving those vendors an opportunity to distribute in their stores (Apparel, 2017). For a vendor to submit a proposal to their product in stores, they were to make a 90-second video providing details about their products with the terms and conditions. The company would later review the plan, and when any was found to be interesting, the vendors were contacted to discuss future relationships in business.
