This being said, it is critical to educate nursing students on the importance of learning to think critically and make clinical judgments so they can develop the skills needed for real-life nursing. One of the most important factors that contribute to the success of a future nurse is the education they receive. In Challenges of Preparing Nursing Students for Practice: The Faculty Perspective, nursing instructors identified that increased teaching time, more clinical practice, high-quality clinical experiences, and helpful role models would help newly graduating nurses become prepared to provide safe care (Patterson et al., 2021). Transitioning from a student nurse to a registered nurse is difficult because students do not get as much real-world experience. Another major factor is that student nurses do not directly experience many ethical or cultural issues since they are limited in their scope of practice. In terms of ethics and culture, nurses need to provide safe care, no matter their personal beliefs. Moreover, a student nurse must learn to gain confidence in their communication skills so that they can professionally communicate with their patients in a mutually beneficial way.
