If you drive down any highway in the United States, you will most likely come across a fast food restaurant at every exit and service area. If walk through the supermarket you will see piles and piles of pre cooked foods. According to the article “Good Home Cooking-Right off the Assembly Line” by James Bone, only one-third of Americans cook homemade meals from scratch with fresh ingredients. Bone also writes that the majority of Americans in today’s society only spend about thirty minutes cooking a meal, compared to the amount of time it took to cook a meal in the 1960s.
