Love is a feeling, a sensation that men and women feel every day of their lives. It is the most powerful intangible force in the world. Blissfulness, passion, hope, and a vast amount of feelings stem from the same root, love. The expression of love has built a societal foundation throughout time. Our families, friends, and the intrinsic duty to take care of them all is the effect of this feeling that we experience. Although, love is very controversial and arouses many questions. “How can you differentiate love from infatuation? Is love permanent or temporary? Is what I am feeling truly love? For my entire social life until now, I spent years with the same people. At the time, I had no question whether love was real. I thought that my friendships would last forever, that the best friends I grew up with I would grow old with. I was sadly mistaken. The friendships that I thought were genuine turned out to be tawdry, but how? The love that I had for my friends was strong enough in my heart that I believed we would be together forever… and in less than a year all of that has changed. I barely converse with any of them anymore. If love was real, why wasn’t it strong enough to keep us together? Or did I never truly love them? Oddly, this realization was not upsetting nor detrimental to the way I conduct friendship with others.
