Webster’s dictionary defines love as being “an intense feeling of deep affection”. I on the other hand think love cannot be defined as a single entity because it is experienced differently by everyone. Love is an emotion we cannot place in one box and say for certain that is what it is and how its shown. Frankly, people do not all work the same so why should our emotions be any different; no one experiences the same event like the person next to them. After researching and taking from my own personal experiences I have condensed my knowledge to 9 forms of love that everyone should have an experience with in their life time.

This type of relationship is one you share with a partner and is expressed through passion, attraction, and a mutual form of respect. Many seek this form during the middle stages of their life. This type of love can be so chemically stimulating partners can have feelings of emotional highness and elation when both are together. So when people say love is a drug or can blind someone, hormonally, they would be accurate thanks to the raphe nucleus, ventral pallidum, nucleus accumbens and ventral tegmental regions.
Lastly, and by far the one I think is the most important is self-love. Before you can enter into a successful relationship in the realm of love you must be able to have positive feelings for one’s self. This is expressed by protecting yourself from harm, treating yourself well, making sure one’s self is happy and treated well by others in return. It is not narcissism, but it does start with “me” so that one can build a strong “we”. It is important because it reminds you where your powers
