Every person has his own definition to the word diversity. Some people view diversity as a good thing, and for other people it is not, because of its negative and positive impact on every society. Sometimes viewing the wide concept for diversity could be tricky to understand and because of its impact on our society, it became a hard thing to use. Diversity could be in religion, race, gender, age, social class and many other things. In order to understand the diversity, you have to study what shapes everyone’s personality. Color has a very powerful impact on our character and behaviors. If you lived in a society that does not view the skin color as a significant difference, you will never find this difference as an issue. I have read a story about a black woman who was born and raised in Africa for the most part of her life. She never considered herself as a black woman, nor her society because it is very common in Africa that people have a dark colored skin. However, everything changed when she came to the U.S.A. In the U.S the privilege is toward the people who have white skin color. In her country racism was not exist as how it plays a big role in the U.S. This is the way how to define the dominant and the subordinate. The dominant is what is important and what is the norm in a society. In the U.S society, the dominant people are the people with the light skin color. These people have the most privileges and they are accepted in anywhere, they are also treated good because of their skin color and the opposite for the people who have darker skin color. In many cases, people created creams and plastic surgeries and shots that could change someone’s skin color and it is all because of the racism. If we did not make a group of people feel like they are less than us, they would not conceder putting themselves and their health in danger to change their skin color to the white color in order to join the dominant
