Happiness, some people find it easily while others have to work for it. I am both, somedays it’s hard to find happiness and others its easy. For me to be able to define happiness, I think of how I found happiness when I was feeling down or depressed. Back in my younger years I struggled to be happy. This is because I was always harassed and made fun of because I have a speech impediment. This was hard for me because not being able to say “R’s” and things that start with “ST” made it easy for people to pick on me because it was hard to say “stop.” Through all of the constant harassment I was still able to find happiness through spending time with my family, going out into my environment, and trying new things occasionally.

For Example, doing something in my community like going out and helping someone with their yardwork would bring happiness to me. When growing up I was raised it’s better to give then to receive, and I took that to heart. At our church, we would go on trips and go out to help people who were in need or help at harvest thrift store and help them organize a giant pile of stuff they have in the back and have some fun along the way. When I was doing that it just made me forget about everything from that day and made me feel depressed. My work environment is another way that I can define happiness. I look forward to going into work each and every day because of the people I work with are fantastic. While I have been at work I have seen people go and new people come but through it all we have all made a few lifelong friendships. People I can turn to when I’m having a rough day and just people who will always be there for me when I need them the most. That’s why I am so thankful to have a job like I do.
