If you were to ask a few people how they measured success, most of the answers would vary. Some may state that is based on your monetary value or that it is measured by your happiness. Yet, these answers can be categorized by a broad definition: success is achieving the goal you set your mind to. Malcolm Gladwell, in his book Outliers, challenges the societal view of how success is ultimately obtained. The author states “...if you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desires” to emphasize the importance of persistence and work ethic when looking for success (Gladwell 151).
When you think of success what comes to mind? In sports it’s making it to the pros. In business it’s making your first million. In high school it can be as simple as acing that test you studied for all night. No matter what profession you are in, success is the desired goal.

Success comes in many forms. It can be the feeling of great pride. It can be a prize or award. It can even be as simple as the achievement of a goal. All of these are the different manifestations of success.
Success, a word we hear everyday and live our lives to achieve, but what does it mean to you? Throughout this school year, while exploring success I have learned what success means to me. While your stand may not be acceptable to others, success is when you have found happiness in your position in life, because you know you have given it your all , and have become a person you are happy being. People have a habit of basing their success off of the expectations of others.
I believe success is one of those terms that has multiple means and to every person asked, a different answer is received. While some people would base being successful in life off of how much money one makes, I would consider myself successful in life if I graduate from college, have a loving family and a steady job. To me success can be defined as achieving a goal that I have previously set and having a result come from various efforts to achieve that goal. I also believe the real outcome of being successful is happiness. There is short term success which adds up repeatedly and eventually becomes long term success.
Success is a noun which comes from the latin root word, successes, meaning, "an advance, succession, happy outcome.” Success can therefore be defined as an accomplishment of a desired end (dictionary.com). Everyone has his or her own interpretation or definition of what they think success is, but in this interpretation, there is always a common goal at the end. That goal is to have a happy and good outcome. Willy Lowman’s definition of success was skewed, and for this, he did not achieve a happy and good outcome like he may have planned.
Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, or that’s what Webster's dictionary says. Each person, however, needs to define what his or her own personal philosophy of success is. I see success as having three areas to which strategies can be applied. These three areas are: physical success, social success, and intellectual success.
SUCCESS Success is an accomplishment of an aim or purpose and good or bad outcome of an undertaking. Success is not a simple thing to achieve; sometimes a whole life time is less to achieve it. Everyone everyday gets out of the house with an aim or purpose and hope to make it succeed. Where as some people are so lucky to get born in highly successful families and enjoy the best out of it that they hardly go though the word “STRUGGLE”.

The way our society is composed has led us to believe that to be successful we must achieve fame or wealth. Now this could be your desired result all along, but without paying attention to the little successes in life and taking on good habits, you will never reach your end goal, whatever it may be. I could go all day thinking I’m successful: that I’m a good student, that I study hard, that I’ll go far in life. . .
Success is part of your future and people can explain it in many different ways. I would describe success as being happy with your life and making a difference. There are many other detail that I think fit into the word success: faith, goals, relationships, your line of work, , sports, and education. Faith is important to success because the end result for me in ending up in heaven. If that doesn’t happen then I definitely wasn’t successful.
Success: everyone wants it, few achieve it. Success is subjective. It could mean obtaining an education, being able to take over the family, achieving one’s life goals, or making the most money. Because it is subjective, it has the tendency to be considered wrong. A person may be successful, but depressed and have no sign of happiness in life, or he or she could make horrible decisions that destroy his or her path of success.
Success Being admired and envied is the most accomplished position to be in. When other people see your life as successful it gives you more motivation to continue with your goals. Having goals is important to be successful but how you complete your goals depends on your definition of success. Although success is usually defined by the attainment of power and wealth a better way to look at success would be internal goals accomplished throughout one's lifetime. People should have multiple goals always in pursuit instead of one main goal of success because, everyone has a different image of success and wealth.
Success is found in all goals that are accomplished no matter how small or large that they are. Being successful doesn 't always mean that one must accomplish goals that are hard. To others it could be marrying the person they love. To be happy with that person for the rest of their life is a big success. Being successful at an educational standpoint would be graduating college with a degree in a future career.
If your happy and you do what you’re supposed to do, then being happy will play a big part of how will you become successful. You can be happy to someone to brighten their day or just give somebody a compliment on how they look because it would make their day and that is success for a lot of people even including me. Being kind and happy to other people makes them happy and success plays in that part. Success doesn’t always mean a goal or something to achieve, happiness will open more doors for you in the future and now everyone loves happiness. If they don’t then they need to go to a mental therapist because happiness is the first way to become successful.
