Happiness is one of the most prominent ideas in our society, from books, to movies, to social media, it’s everywhere. I would consider being ‘happy’ as the end goal for most people; it’s what they want most, but it’s also what they fear most. We fear happiness because most of us make it easy for it to be taken away from us within a second. It’s human instinct to want to find happiness in a person or object, which is great at the time, but both of those things are only temporary. Of course little pieces of happiness can be cradled in each of those people or objects, but it cannot all be vested into one or you will eventually be left feeling empty and broken. More important than how many friends you have, how many instagram followers you have, and especially more important than what people think about you. The way you view life and happiness should almost coincide with each other. You can’t sit around and wait for happiness to knock at your door, you have to go out n get it. One of my favorite quotes is, “change your thoughts, change your world,” which has proven to be so incredibly true in my life. The idea that your thoughts control your world seems so simple, yet a lot of people don’t think about it, i know I didn’t. For a big part of my life every single one of my thoughts was pessimistic and I wondered why I wasn’t happy. You cannot be happy when you constantly have negative thoughts running through your mind, it doesn’t work that way. This includes talking negatively about others!! Talking badly about others can make you feel just as bad, or even worse. Try to focus on the good things about people. Of course we’re all human and judgment is a natural thing but try to mask it and most definitely don’t voice it. You just have to decide, yep, life sucks sometimes, but there’s SO much to be happy about. There’s a beautiful sunset every night, there’s dogs, and there’s a whole fricking world out there with so many places you’ve never been. Fill your life with things that make you happy and fuel your brain with positive thoughts. You have
