The definition of poetry: “The art of rhythmical composition, written or spoken, for exciting pleasure by beautiful, imaginative, or elevated thoughts” (“Poetry”). When I think of poetry, its definition is exactly what I invision. I see people trying to make an impact, deliver an important message and grab people's attention so that they can understand and relate to the topic being written/spoken about. There are many different types of poetry: Haiku, traditional poetry, contemporary poetry and music. There are plenty of more but these are the main ones that first come to mind. Although they all have their own feats and qualities, poetry through music relates to me more. I was a chubby little kid with a big afro on his head. Many of the other students would bully or make fun of me and since I’m a sensitive person, my feelings and self-esteem were severely crushed. I found myself hurt, in pain and shame, I would try to get my mom or dean to switch me out of the school, and when that didn’t work I asked to be switched out into different classes. Unfortunately, switching classes didn’t end the torment, and I was brought to my limit. But one particular day, would change how I reacted to all of the negativity. School had ended and I came back home and followed my usual routine: First finish all of my school work, then I would play World of Warcraft on my computer and turn the tv on just for background noise. My grandma would bring me a hot warm plate of beef, corn and rice. She also set an ice cold cup full of ice to help me wash the food down. Whenever I finished playing on the computer, I would head to bed and then watch youtube videos on my ipod until I passed out. Only thing this time, before I went to bed, I see a video named “Travie McCoy Dr. Feel Good ft. Cee Lo Green” in my accounts search history. I clicked and listened to
