This scene is a continuation of TROY and ROSE’s argument on page 72 Fences. TROY has just told ROSE that he had gotten another woman pregnant. After trying to leave the house TROY grabs ROSE’s arm. (Then enters CORY, CORY attempts to get TROY off of her and is pushed to the ground by his father. After saying some harsh words, Troy exits out the yard and Cory runs over to Rose.)
My path to law school has began in my sophomore year of college, now I am ready for the challenges ahead with an eagerness to learn. I have discovered over the years that I embody the unique combination of activism, diligence, and courage beneficial for a legal career. I originally had an interest in pursuing a law degree as a student in the School of International and Public Affairs at Florida International University. At the time, I chose to major in criminal justice with the intention of becoming a defense attorney. However as I neared graduation I was not certain about a career as a defense attorney.
There was no life-changing event or catastrophic injury that ignited my passion for medicine. It started out as an interest that grew as I grew. Through volunteering in the healthcare field as well as leadership at my university, I was able to eventually put into words why I so dearly wanted to devote my life to medicine; simply impact and leadership. My interest in becoming a physician was always there, I loved the idea of being able to apply my scientific knowledge to help heal people.
I am writing to declare my interest and candidacy to serve as the 2017 Associate Representative on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Strategic Council and to demonstrate how I can effectively serve the interests of the Associate AIA membership, emerging professionals, and the National Associates Committee (NAC) at the highest levels of the Institute. Having served on the NAC since 2014 as a Regional Associate Director and as an At-Large Director on the Advisory Committee I have a rare perspective of the historical background of the NAC that will have spanned across five different NAC Chairs. I possess a unique blend of the understanding of the historical decisions we have made as a committee tailored with the knowledge of our future vision and goals and how they relate to the rest of the AIA. My involvement in several of these decisions, visioning sessions, and goal settings throughout the last three years ensure that I can adequately convey the proper messaging, influence, and representation of the NAC to the 2017 AIA Strategic Council and 2018 AIA National Board of Directors.
I would like to be apart of ASB because I’m interested in helping Medea be the best school it can be. I always like to learn new things and I will appreciate new experiences learning from seventh and eighth graders. I am responsible and I am excited for my leadership skills to be tested. Also, I will gain more responsibility and learn more leadership skills throughout my time in ASB. As part of ASB, I will be able to work with other students who have similar interests and want to be fellow leaders at Medea.
No matter where I am or what I am doing, people around me always insult each other in vulgar ways. Whether swearing or calling someone an inappropriate name, there is no other word that is as offensive as retarded. Seeing as people with disabilities cannot control what they do, does not give anybody the right to mock them. This issue frustrates me and is something I want to fix. My goal is to eradicate the r-word from my generation and the younger generation 's slang vocabulary.
Anticipate what it will be like for you as a student at the University of Delaware. Both in and out of the classroom, where do you expect to feel most comfortable and where will you need to stretch? As a student at University of Delaware I would hope to do extremely well in my classes and earn academic achievement in my field of study. I feel proficient in academics, but there are other areas where I wish to improve.
As an aspiring physician, I believe that ILS will prepare me for success both inside and outside of the classroom. Through the connections, opportunities, and support I will receive in the ILS program, I know that I will best be prepared to apply to medical school. I value mentorship and am excited to have access to faculty mentors to guide me in my progress. The close community between peers and professors intrigues me to join this community and learn from a like-minded community. I am specifically excited to take new courses such as HLSC208, to learn about connections between molecular biology and computer programming.

I am keen to work for a company that supports and encourages their staff to continually learn and improve in their professional careers. I would love to start my accounting career with KPMG where I can continue my education and training towards becoming a fully qualified accountant. I believe I would be a great fit with the culture of KPMG as I too value inclusion, diversity, honesty and openness. I also agree with the values that KPMG stands for and would love to be part of a team that strive to share these values with the wider community through their work. Committed to my goal of becoming a chartered accountant I would value the opportunity, training and support from KPMG that would assist me towards this goal.
I feel corporate America has been my greatest teacher for learning different cultures and respecting those cultures in the workplace. I have been blessed in that the companies I have worked for have put important emphasis on culture in the workplace and how to learn to interact with people of different values, skillsets, experiences, and backgrounds. This has greatly helped me in my career because it has broadened my skillsets. For example, by learning how to communicate with a team that works offshore, I have learned better time management and how to adjust my written communication to avoid confusion. On a more personal note, one of my very good friends is a man from an offshore team in India that I worked with at a previous employer.

As a member of credit team, I assisted the team to work on annual report audit for Agricultural Bank of China. Because of my good communication ability, and learning capacity, I was assigned to take charge of challenge tasks, such as reorganizing contents of audit working paper, and dealing with tough clients, which were out of the scope of an intern 's duty. But this job was rewarding and immensely instructive. I gained the familiarity with audit procedures from an operational level, and grasped a deep understanding of commercial bank 's operational process and business policy. Meanwhile, I was determined to take joining PwC as my first career objective after the graduation
