After reading all the conspiracies theory’s about the cause of Edgar Allen Poe’s death, I conclude, Edgar Allen Poe died of multitude of causes. Pre-existing conditions and abusive physical treatment led to Poe’s death. Conditions created by being exposed to carbon monoxide and heavy metal poisoning. Pre-existing conditions like cholera, spasms, epilepsy, and diabetes. Poe suffered from brain tumors and heart problems. Poe’s year of abusing alcohol also played a part in his demise. Last, I feel he was a victim of cooping. I come to this conclusion based on eye-witness accounts and medical documentation provided by many of Poe’s associates. His fiancée, reported, Poe was seriously ill, so weak he was unable to take care of himself. Further exploring the causes of Poe’s death, it is reported he planned a trip to Philadelphia. Poe’s doctor recommended he not take the trip. Poe is going to Philadelphia to help Mrs. St. Leon Loud edit a book she written. He stopped by his doctor’s house before leaving, they discussed Poe’s plans while in Philadelphia. At the completion of Poe’s visit, he left in haste, accidently taking the doctors cane. The cane concealed secrete microfilm. Poe travel to Philadelphia, his first stop once there was to one of the local pubs. No one knows his reasons for going to the pub, many said he stopped there to have a drink. After going to the pub, Poe’s where about became unknown for several weeks. Eye-witness accounts say they saw Poe taken against his well by several strange men. Poe is later founded in a bar-room of one of the public houses, dressed in clothes so unlike what most was accustom to seeing Poe wear. Poe’s friends barely recognize him.
