He was not great because he didn’t show concern for others, leadership, or intelligence. Alexander the Great was not the best because of his mass amounts of murder, not much care for his soldiers, and his poor ability to lead. The first reason Alexander the Great is not amazing because of the mass amount of murder he committed. One example is during the battle at Tyre, once Alexander’s army broke into the city they went on a ferocious killing spree (Doc C). Alexander had ordered anyone that was not inside the temple to be slain and he killed seven thousand Tyrians.
Alexander the Great is a superior leader based on the fact that he gave the people great rich lives during his rule. Alexander the Great was a great military leader along with his life and legacy. The great Alexander’s early life was one filled with death and controlling figures.
Alexander the Great is often referred to as one of the most powerful and the greatest leader of the world has ever seen. He achieved a great deal in his leadership role and military expeditions. In a span of twelve years, Alexander was able to take control of the Persian Empire, conquer Egypt and a large part of the Middle East. Alexander enjoyed the finest education of that time, molding him into a leader that his father, Philip II would have wanted. The Greek philosopher Aristotle helped to expand Alexander’s knowledge in science and philosophy of the modern world.
Alexander the Great built an empire by stealing land from blameless people from weaker armies. Alexander was not a hero, but a terrible dreaded villain; Alexander the not so great. He was a villain because of his superstitions, immaturity in battle, and the sheer quantities of conquered land and killed enemies. Alexander was a really bad person, a villain. Alexander is not great because he killed one of his soldiers for luck.
Alexander the Great is a subject of contorversy. Some historians say he was a great and noble leader while others say he was a ruthless conqueror. Alexander came into power after his father died, who was not a great ruler himself. So Alexander really had to prove he could be an honorable king. I believe that Alexander was a great ruler because he was tolerant of other religions, he expanded his empires ecomonics, and he showed a certain brilliance when it came to conquoring.
Soon after, in 323 BCE, he became very ill, his passing occuring ten days later. How Great Was Alexander the Great? Alexander was great because he was a military genius and an inspiring leader. Alexander can be considered great because he was a military genius. For instance, “The engagement was...unlike any other previous battles.”
In spite of the greatness of Alexander, his legacy isn't without controversy. The speed of his conquests made people think of him as a ruthless and power hungry conqueror. When he conquered Thebes in 335 BCE and the violent incidents at Persepolis in 330 BCE are reminders of the darker facet of his ambition. In conclusion, Alexander the Great’s greatness can be a combination of army brilliance, his way of keeping his troops spirits up in the heat of battle, and being imaginative and unsuspecting for a united empire. His ability to encourage and lead his troops to victory against very powerful enemies, he also had inclusive governance regulations, distinguishes him as one of the most outstanding people in the
Most ancient rulers are called ‘The Great’ because they are the first in their family to rule. However, Alexander the Great was not the first in his family to rule yet he still received the title. Although he was only ruler of the empire for twelve years, he was still a great leader and earned the title he has now because in that time he deployed new technologies and equipment which helped him expanded the empire to as big as it ever was and defeat the Persians as well as many others. There are some people that disagree and don’t think he earned this title but others do think he was truly a great leader. He improved and strengthened the army he inherited from his father and treated them with respect.
Alexander the great truly lived up to his name from the time he took over his father’s empire, to the time he died. In 13 years he assemble the largest empire in the entire ancient world. Alexander conquered Egypt and founded a city at the beginning of the Nile River. From an early age he was an achiever, he conquered territories and he died young at the height of his power but not without finishing what his father started. Alexander the great didn’t just inherit his father’s legacy; he used his father’s ways to make many achievements and made his own legacy, resulting in him being known as Alexander the great.
Alexander the Great did a lot of good things but I do not think that he is so great. I think he was ok but he also mad some bad decisions and could go crazy at any time, so you would not know when to expect it. My opinion about him is that he’s not great because he enslaved 20,000 innocent women and children and he got drunk, which caused many deaths.
Alexander the great was a hero and a villain but he was also a hero, in my eyes he was more of a hero because he was very courageous and smart not only that but also he conquered a lot of land. Some philosophers say that his skill was not natural and a gift from the gods. Alexander made numerous contributions to his kingdom and his soldiers to boost morale and win nearly impossible battles. Alexander was a very smart strategist and a clever commander.
If you look back on Alexander's time, there were many more accomplishments and discoveries made than just how to conquer people and ride a horse. Yet, none of the people who made these astonishing accomplishments are referred to as great. There was the amazing mathematician Euclid, who discovered geometry, which helped us greatly evolve our society. Yet, we do not call him Euclid the great.
There is much debate about whether Alexander “the Great” was really great or not. I believe that the word great comes from many things he had accomplished in his time of ruling. However, I do not believe great came from how he treated and cared for his people. Alexander did not live up to his name. There is no hiding that Alexander was a good leader when it came to fighting.
Despite the fact that Alexander of Macedonia was believed to be cruel and brutal, I still think that he is well worthy of his title “The Great”. To begin with Alexander the great was highly intelligent, growing up he was taught by Aristotle, a Greek philosopher and scientist. In Mr. Corwin’s video on Alexander, viewers learned one way Alexander Proved his intelligence, it was when tamed a wild horse, he noticing that it was afraid of his own shadow so Alexander moved it carefully away from the sun so the horse couldn't see his shadow anymore and it soon became his favorite stallion. Additionally Alexander was “great” because he ruled by kindness.
Intelligence, bravery, and leadership, are all characteristics you look for in a hero, that’s what Alexander the Great is but, is he really great or just a power hungry king.. Alexander the Great was King Philip 's son who took over the world, he became the leader of Macedonia in 336 BCE. He was destined for power and started his strike in Asia Minor, this strike led him to take over most of Europe. Alexander was a great leader that used his intelligence and bravery to take down civilizations. Alexander was an intelligent leader that used his strategies to take over most of Europe in only 11 years, that is including the 3 most significant territories, Egypt, Greece and Persia (DOC A). He was very intelligent because out of all of his territories he took over, only 5 of the territories had a battle with him.
