Does love really conquer all? A play where it does is called Romeo and Juliet and was written by William Shakespeare in 1597 about a pair of star crossed lovers that took their lives while trying to be with each other. Their parents hated one another and wanted nothing to do with each other, although this play is still a romance because they fell in love at first sight, they put aside everything else for each other and they even died with each other. Romeo and Juliet first met at her fathers party and when Romeo saw her he said,“Forswear it, sight, For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night.” Romeo was completely in love with her before he had even met her despite the fact he was to be married to Rosaline. His attraction towards Juliet was too great and ended up marrying her the next day. Juliet was in love with him too, but she was supposed to marry Paris.
