While doing my observation of Mrs. Holloway kindergarten’s classroom, I interview Mrs. Holloway methods of collecting typical information about children’s literacy development. First, she cautions me against early literacy focus that cannot be too narrow on literacy skills. She states,” because these are the domain of development that interact to promote children’s personal and academic growth. Such as physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development of students are actually major factors that influence early literacy development. Mrs. Holloway uses this opportunity to incorporate families’ enjoyment into her well-organized assessment. During the organizing of a Christmas parade, she was able to get families attention. She focus student attention on alphabet code, phonological and phonemic awareness and knowledge and understand of print.

She observes her student while documenting student interacting with peers, as well as the importance of literacy behavior. Being involved in this awareness strategy has taught me the importance of communication between the parents because they will have a better understanding of how you are helping to prepare their child for success in school.
I witness how Mrs. Holloway reaches out to parent using this scheduled activity that address particular literacy goals. Effective communication was used while she uses this opportunity to share insights about their child. She asked questions about how their child learned to read and writing best. Because, most parent incorporate reading and writing activates into their child daily routine. She states, “It is important to respect the parent’s views and their input on their child’s growth and progression to success in school.
