Eventually he found his own voice and ended up creating literature by the use of elements that he thought to be the most poetic and sentimental, such as death and beauty. Poe examined the essential components that define the human personality, like moods, obsessions and wishes. Over his lifetime he has lost loved ones, overcame obstacles, and became a successful writer and artist. Because of all the barriers and obstacles he had to overcome, Edgar Allan Poe was able to grow to be such an inspirational and popular writer.
