For example, The Raven, Alone, and Annabel Lee were all stories and poems that related to his family and loved ones. All of those stories depicted his life. Eventually he found his own voice and ended up creating literature by the use of elements that he thought to be the most poetic and sentimental, such as death and beauty. Poe examined the essential components that define the human personality, like moods, obsessions and wishes. The life of Edgar Allan Poe worked as an inspiration for his works and literature. Many of Poe’s great writings featured realistic events from tragic parts of his life. Over his lifetime he has lost loved ones, overcame obstacles, and became a successful writer and artist. Because of all the barriers and obstacles he had to overcome, Edgar Allan Poe was able to grow to be such an inspirational and popular writer. Starting off, Edgar Allan Poe’s earliest years of life required him to overcome some of the worst tragedies a child can face.

After his parents died, he lived with another family member who never accepted him as their own son. Later on in life, Poe had served in the military and at that point he started writing poems.
