Since I have become an Education Major at McNeese State University, I have become very familiar with the Burton College of Education’s Conceptual Framework. Such principles include professionalism, diversity, collaboration, and reflection. As teacher candidates and representatives of McNeese State University, we have always been encouraged to uphold such high standards as these in the field and wherever else we may find ourselves. As I look back to the beginning of my time in the Education program I can see that each one of these principles has made me the future teacher that I will one day be. My goal is to strive in excellence wherever I go and continue to be the lifelong learner using these four components in my own classroom. Professionalism …show more content…

It is important for these learners to respect and accommodate for differentiation in the classroom. No child learns the same way, looks the same, or reacts the same. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we take each of these differences into account and find a way to properly accommodate so that class-wide learning can take place. I strongly believe that it is important to stress to our students that diversity is a part of life and it is something that we should all embrace. Students need to understand that it is okay to be different from one another and that each of us can learn from those differences. During my student teaching experience I have come across students with ADD, dyslexia, special needs, and accommodations. I have found ways to modify and accommodate these individuals whether by making my lesson plan for the week or simply giving them more time during a lesson or project. I have also observed and found myself that students with ADD or ADHD perform better in an interactive classroom where they can leave their seat to answer a question on the board or going to the front of the classroom when presenting a group …show more content…

This component is so very important as a new educator who should constantly be gaining new insight through collaboration with seasoned educators. Through collaboration, new educators can gain better classroom management tips, new ways to introduce concepts, or even just to give ideas and insight on better lesson use. Another tip that I have witnessed is the collaboration among teachers, parents, or caregivers through the use of newsletters or electronic newsletters. When there is collaboration between these people it enhances the child’s learning. Not only are the teachers making their best efforts to teach this child, but the child is also getting help at home that assists their learning process. If a child is struggling in the classroom, it can become very hard for the teacher to find the spare time to get that one child enough one on one time that he or she may need. However, if the parents are aware of what the child has been learning and the teacher has properly communicated, the child can receive the extra help that is needed while at
