Stemming from my own childhood, I have had this idea that when I grew up I would pursue a career that allows me to work with children. As I’ve grown older and taken classes at my high school, online, at UCLA, have been exposed to scientific papers, and spoken with my mentors, I have realized that I would also like to work with either neuroscience or oncology. I personally recognize the Education Shadowing Program as a great area of both professional and personal development. Being a part of the Education Shadowing Program would give me more exposure into the field of pediatrics that I am passionate about. I view the program as an opportunity to learn from and foster relationships with astute mentors that provide the utmost care, understanding,
I believe that every student can reach their learning potential, with high expectations, support through differentiated learning opportunities, and a caring classroom. I support each student by greeting them every day as they enter the classroom, so that they
Box 1 – The College of Liberal Arts at Temple has been a great conduit for providing opportunities for my intellectual and professional development. First and foremost, I feel extremely privileged to be part of Temple’s CLA Honors Program due the outstanding faculty, both teaching and administrative. I again feel lucky to have been exposed to several fantastic clubs and organizations, such as the Temple Economics and Political Science societies, that pertain to my fields of study. I’ve also been afforded possibilities to attend lectures given by prominent academics and scholars, in particular the talks given by Professor Joseph Schwartz on political theory. Learning from the exceptional professors and commingling and collaborating with other
Karl Marx Karl Marx was a German sociologist who contribution to sociology is known as Marxism (Rubel, 1968). Marx’s influence paved the way to a new theoretical perspective known as conflict theory. Unlike Durkheim, this paradigm suggests that society has conflict due to specific groups struggling to obtain scarce resources (Lindsey et al, 2009). Marx looked at two classes, the bourgeoisie, also known as the capitalist, and the proletariat, also known as the working class. He stated that the economic structure is the reason for the inequality and that those who have wealth have the power to control society (Coser, 1968).
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, Briona Mcall, as your child’s new teacher in K-2 CDC special education class. I was recently hired at Holston View Elementary School as Mrs. McMurray is moving to Hong Kong to teach special education. We are excited for her and wish her the best. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Special Education from East Tennessee State University in 2015. I completed my student teaching in Bristol at Anderson Elementary and Tennessee High School
I will use my education to create a strong and powerful impact. This impact will mean something to many people. It will be one of the hardest things I will have to accomplish in both my young and adult life. My impact will be becoming a special education pre-k teacher. I fell in love with the idea of becoming a special education teacher in this specific area of expertise when I was a freshman in high school.
According to Gowlett and Niesche (2022, p.353), all students with diverse learning needs have the right to access education on the same basis as their peers. The authors argue that all children should have the same educational opportunities, but unfortunately, this is not always the case in schools. Gowlett and Niesche (2022) argue that all children should have the same educational opportunities, but unfortunately, this is not always the case in schools, with a large number of students not achieving educational success. As I prepare to begin my post-secondary studies at the University of Alberta, I hope to contribute towards the U of A’s vision of being one of the world’s greatest universities for the public good. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and as a part of my studies; I hope to participate in the independent research opportunities available in my field of study. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate alongside internationally recognized professors in world class research facilities. As our society faces the consequences of health issues such as obesity and heart disease, I hope to collaborate with others in investigating and developing solutions to these problems. While I do not have prior research experience, I am confident
I believe that all children are individuals, unique in their abilities, from a wide diversity of backgrounds and cultures, and they also have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. Educators are observers and designers who have to observe children’s abilities, interests and learning styles for designing a curriculum that fulfill everyone’s needs. Observers also play an important role on noticing individual differences and offering help to children who have lower ability to improve
Going forward a liberal arts education will be key for me to attain my goals. Specifically a Hollins liberal arts education. I am interested in pursuing pre-law, creative writing, art, and equine studies. At a typical technical based studies program I would be unable to study and learn what I 'm passionate about. It has been said that if you choose a job you love you will never have to work another day, and I fully intend to live my life with zeal doing what I love and am truly passionate about, and a liberal arts education will help me achieve that.
Ever since I started High School I have been thinking about my future as a college student and which University I would be able to attend. As I did my research I became interested in the possibility to attend an Ivy League School since I’d like to be immersed in academics during my time in college. I understand that Ivy League Schools provide the best education that sometimes seems unattainable, but I believe that it is possible for me to get in since I dislike limiting myself. Like most people I began doing my research by looking into Harvard, Princeton, and Yale.
Growing up, my mother would tell me that I need to get an education. I need to go to school to get a decent job, to support my future children, to be successful in life. So I went to school. I walked across the stage in my middle school gymnasium, wearing a graduation cap that would not stop slipping off my head as I walked, and shook the principal’s hand. I gazed at my mother and knew this important lady in my life was proud of me.
In the age of globalization, I realize the importance of knowing what the world is happening. The United States is one of the strongest countries in Economics and also the head of Education. As a student in the field of business, to apply for the Master of Science in Technology management is the best way to approach a broader view of the world and deepen the knowledge in business. Therefore, I will demonstrate how my motivation, personality, and my future plan enable me to develop into a management professional with virtually unlimited potential. To begin with, my background experiences and the reputation of Illinois strongly related to my choice of applying MSTM program.
What started off as me searching for a safe-haven within my community, first led me to positions as a volunteer/mentor, and ultimately employment for a variety of community programs. My experiences included providing tutoring for school aged children, friendly visits and shopping for the elderly, engaging in community service projects and conducting educational workshops. These were the driving forces in my pursuit of a career in psychology. My ambition, motivation and commitment to service evolved from those programs and experiences. Since early adulthood, my goals have been to address human needs through an interdisciplinary perspective.
The term achievement refers to a desire to perform well, to accomplish something especially by superior ability, effort, and great courage to obtain a goal. At the beginning of this semester all my classmates, their goal was to pass this class, but not all of them are going to achieve, some of them are going to drop the class or fail. Some people achieve more than others. The reason for the contrast in the achievement of the person is different personalities, socio cultural context, and how highly motivated spur on to do better. During life span, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and late adulthood, we find difficult events in life that prevent us to achieve our goals.
