Certain images and stories that I have encountered have influenced my viewpoint on education in lower developed countries. My original view was basically nonexistent, for I had little information on the hardships that those people go through on a daily basis. I used to think that everyone in the world has had the same privileges and opportunities that I have had. A most recent example of an image and a story that have moved me is Ashley Washburn’s story. Washburn is a teacher that predominantly works with kids in Tanzania and has worked to improve the educational experience for these kids.
In today’s society, we use electricity for everything. We use it for different things like making various appliances in our homes, stores and businesses to work, to advance and improve technology and help to make people lives better. It can also be used as a form of medical treatment. This form of treatment is called electrophysiology or galvanism during the 18th and 19th centuries. Electrophysiology is a part of physiology dealing with the electricity that is associated with body functions.
Going to college is more than just extending your education. College is a time to make connections, grow as a person, and to prepare for the so-called “real world”. At K-State, I plan to make the most of my opportunities inside and out of the classroom to benefit from the school. Inside the classroom I plan to learn the proper skills and gain the knowledge I need to be a successful member of the work force as soon as I start my career.
Rivera. Session1.Journal What made me want to go back to school was that I didn 't have anything else going for me after high school. I had two beautiful children in the process. I couldn 't find a job or anything it was hard on my own.
For sometime I’ve wanted to become a teacher and while expressing this desire my parents, friends, and even some teachers were skeptical or advised against me becoming a teacher. While some of their reasons may be true, I want to change the perception of teachers and the profession starting with the way I will teach my students, the future of this country. A liberal arts education will give me a chance to teach my students not only the subject they are learning but also about the world around them. With the way I teach my students I hope their parents begin to see teachers in a different way as well. The first part of people’s lives is spent with teachers that shape and lead children to become the leaders of tomorrow’s world.
Going to College I think college will be stricter than high school. Stressful, more responsibility, the lifestyle is different. Theme I think money is big dill because if you do something to get in trouble and take you out four a whole year.
I am a responsible, hard-working, ambitious and kind person who has a strong passion to attain a career in education. My ambition is to become a primary school teacher and I firmly believe that in order to work in education it is the desire to help and assist children in achieving their best. Working in education can be tough and challenging, which is one of the reasons that I really love about working in this profession. I am applying for this course because I feel that I have the potential to inspire and encourage children of all abilities and for them to reach their full potential. Working in education has always been my passion and dream goal to be a primary school teacher since I was young.
Personal Statement This quote is one I am very fond of and came across while in my undergrad studies. I was taking an interpersonal skills course and that is where I really stated to take on a different perspective of if I am really going to help others I have to have a greater understanding of myself. Looking at how I approached and handled situations was one way I assessed myself and what I could do differently. The course forced me to reflect on my life, and at the moment I felt that for the age I was I was doing everything a young lady should be, attending school to further my education, working part-time to help my parents cover my financial cost, not acting irresponsible, and helping others when I could.
Autobiographical Statement – Kim Phung My journey of becoming a secondary teacher has always been an aspiration that solidified itself throughout my years of post-secondary education and simply being in school. Starting from my years in Elementary, I would receive numerous comments and encouragement from my most-looked up to teachers stating that I would be someday one of them. I can still recall the times that I would approach my way of learning by making my own worksheets for English classes. When it came down to finally choosing my post-secondary faculty in high school, there was no doubt in my mind that Education was what I wanted most.
They say money can't buy happiness. I say give me 100 dollars, you can watch me smile! If I could have one wish it would be money. I wish money because I want to go to college, travel around the world and it will make me happy. College is very expensive.
College is the perfect time for self discovery and figuring out a career path, and a liberal arts college education truly spoke out to me as an environment in which I could thrive in. Throughout my life, I have had many interests and have never wanted to devote all of my time to only one. With a liberal arts education, I can study across the curriculum and will easily have the option to double major or have minors. Coming into college undeclared, I want to leave plenty of room for exploration. Even though I may not know my specific major, I know that interacting with people is one of my strengths in which I’d like to pursue.
It is evident to me that obstacles can be transformed into motivation and perseverance to become something like a turbocharged engine in my life. After going through a horrible divorce, where I lost everything I had and more, I made the decision to return to California where I began many years ago. With no money in my pocket and too few options, I was starting again from zero. This time was different because the "School of Life" had already provided me with a big tool box fully stocked with a diverse set of tools such as: experience, perseverance, optimism, dedication, and self control - all ready to use as daily basic solutions in my daily walk and a life full of challenges.
Since the start of my college education back in 2011, I was continually told that selecting a biology or chemistry major was the way best path to take if I were applying to dental school. You might find it ironic that I lack a passion for science classes, what I am truly passionate about is the dental field. I have wanted to become a dentist ever since I started seeing one when I was little. My college education was put on hold in 2012 after the sudden death of my sister. Needing time off from my education, but still seeking to have a purpose in life I decided to follow in my family’s footsteps by joining the military.
Someone once told me that an educated mind; never goes back to its original state. When someone’s horizon is expanded; they influence surroundings, the one with an education owes their society a change for better. Education is a gift given to many, not all. Some people have disabilities and aren’t able to cope with things. Those with an education owe others less fortunate a better future.
I know that my undergraduate experience will pave the way for my future success, so I hope to gain more qualities that will continue to assist me in achieving my future endeavors. One quality I hope to improve during my undergraduate-college experience is networking. Currently I attend a high school that is very small compared to other traditional schools. It is really easy for me to communicate with others around me including my teachers. I know that college will be different, due to the difference in size, so, I hope to build on my networking abilities by building relationships with my professors or seeking to participate in additional educational opportunities.
