In Australia, there is a growing diversity in the student population and schooling educational system. This diversity is reflected in the student body as many students have a connection to a culture other than the one they were raised in. As a multicultural country, (Hayes, 2013, para. 1) goes into saying, Australia has a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds, and this diversity is reflected in the student body. This can sometimes lead to cultural differences that can impact their school experience (Gowlett & Niesche, 2022, p. 356). At the core of these disadvantages is diversity in the student population, including issues of socio-economic status, poverty, gender, and ethnicity. According to Gowlett and Niesche (2022, p.353), all students with diverse learning needs have the right to access education on the same basis as their peers. The authors argue that all children should have the same educational opportunities, but unfortunately, this is not always the case in schools. Gowlett and Niesche (2022) argue that all children should have the same educational opportunities, but unfortunately, this is not always the case in schools, with a large number of students not achieving educational success.
