I have learned a lot this semester in English 1102. I learned responsibility when it came to be reading my textbook on time. With all of the assignments I was given I was able to further my knowledge of how to cite my papers correctly. In addition, I learned the benefits of writing an annotated bibliography when writing a research paper. Although I have learned multiple skills and lesson over the course of English 1102, the single most important lesson I learned in this class is to be confident in my work. It took me all semester to realize this but being confident leads to less over analyzation and less stress. Growing up I was never good at English and I detested writing and reading. I would rather do math problems all day than to have to pick up a book. I am the type of person who likes strictly yes or no answers, and English could never provide that. Because I was not confident in my writing, I would read people’s work to see if I was on track. Compared to others in my class, my paper always seemed to take a different approach than everyone else and this would freak me out because I would think that I had completed the assignments wrong. It was hard to compare my work to my group’s when we got to the research assignment. Without being able to check to see if I am on the right track because everyone had a different topic worried me a bit. I had no idea what I was doing throughout the whole process and I was stressed the whole length of it. There were nights where I was not able to sleep because I was thinking of ways to improve my paper. I wanted to change my topic on numerous occasions or try to start over and try my paper from a different angle, but in the end, I stuck through it and I am glad I
